Anyone know how to move contacts between 'folders'? Like from people to groups or favorites. I have a Razr on ICS. Any help would be appreciated. And, does anyone have a link to a manual for the Razr with ICS? Do I have to spend more money to buy a book to tell me how to use this expensive phone that doesn't come with a manual? If you can't tell, I'm new to this smart phone stuff.

Here is the link to the Motorola site with the manuals on the left, and the ICS manual is there.

To add people to the Groups (CoWorkers, Family, Friends, etc) simply click on the group, and click edit, and you can type in peoples names from your "People or Contacts", that you want to add to them.

Hi Betty12: Having a new phone is one of the neatest things but No Manual to get you going in the Right Direction can be a Bummer i Added a Couple links to help get you Directly there: Have Fun with your Phone and Enjoy all of it's possibilities..b33
This is the Getting Started Guide: On these Guides you can Save them to your Computer or if you have a Printer you can Print the Pages off and have them Next yo your Phone.
This is the Older Guide if you Need to see the differences of the Two Platforms or if you just need to go back to Gingerbread just to at it's settings. I use this Guide for that purpose..

Thanks for the link B33. I am having an interesting contact as well. My problem is that two separate contacts have somehow merged. They are husband and wife so they share an email address. I have had them listed separately for years. Last week the wife texted me and my phone said the text was from the husband. I looked under his contact folder and sure enough her number had been added to his contact. I tried to edit that out and ended up getting her picture on his contact and no resolution to having both contacts merged. Help!

No. I only have one phone and one google account. I also use Motocast and I wonder if that is where things get mixed up. What I want to do is edit the contacts in one place (the easiest would probably be the computer) and have the phone sync to only that contact list. My People app is so cluttered with Facebook,Google, Hotmail, Backup Asst, that I don't think it knows who to sync with anymore.

That sounds like the only solution. The drawback is I assume I will be losing all the text message history from each of them.
Update: Thanks for the info. I was able to edit the contact from the text message page. I deleted the contacs in my People appt but the messages remained on my phone with just the phone number showing. I then highlighted the message history for each one and tapped on the face and an editing window came up. I entered the correct name and picture for each one and preserved the message history. Thanks for sticking with me on this one B33.
