How to check data usage on Verizon Data Service (Pay as you go)?

I recently signed up for the Verizon data service on by Xoom 4g LTE. I could not get the Data service setup on the device I had to call in and get the 1gb prepaid plan. Everything is now working as far as the using the data service on the device, but I don't know how to see how much data I have used. How do I check my data usage? Also does the internet just stop working when you have hit your limit?
