I have a new Droid RAZR and am just learning my way around it. We live in a mountainous area so service is spotty and the phone keeps announcing "Verizon Wireless" or "Extended Network" or "Loss of Service" as I move around from place to place. This is especially annoying when I am hunting and trying to keep quiet or in a public place.
How do I turn off the network connection announcements?
Also, is there a complete manual for the RAZR that I can download? I really would like to have some detail info on how to navigate around this thing.
Thanks for any help.

I'm not in a position to test this but how about Menu --> Settings --> Sound --> Network Lost Tone ?
I'd lock it and use the lock slider to mute it if I was hunting or needed absolute silence.
The owners manual should be here:

My guess would be the same as smashogre for the notification. There's also one in there about Roaming tone you could play with. I don't have any of those checked and don't get any of the things you describe, but I just may not be in an area where I'd get them either way.
Also, if you want a hard copy of the manual, Motorola will send you one if you request it here.
