Could there be a price drop coming in the near future for the Droid RAZR MAXX? Also, I've went on Motorola's site and they said the phone is 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich upgradeable. Is this true, because I've went on youtube to see what it looks like on a Razr but all of the videos I have seen the phones have been rooted (or unrooted I don't know the difference). Can anyone help me on this? Thank in advance.

It's true but it's when Motorola gets all the Testing done that ones will receive it. And the Maxx sells for $199.99 on the Site as for the Corporate Stores that is usually up the Manager but some will extend the courtesy

It is now cut-rate, going from $300 to $200; however, you must add in taxes. So, when I say it now sells for $199.99 it is a bit more than that with taxes added. Will it go any lower? It might, but probably not. As for ICS, the Razr series is supposed to be getting it. When is the question. Originally, it is supposed to be the second quarter (April, May, June); however, it is still in testing, so I think it probably will be sometime in the third quarter (July, August or Sept.)

Mine was due for an upgrade in August and I caught the site showing $169.99. That was with a $30.00 discount. But as you know they have to add the $30.00 upgrade fee. Then with State Sales and Local tax fees on mine it totaled to $219.49. I will have to live with that and so far the Maxx is worth it. Just keep checking from time to time and it might lower again. I noticed right after I purchased it, I went back in to check the price and it had already moved back up to $199.99 so go figure that one, lol

If you haven't bought the maxx yet, DON'T! I've had nothing but problems with the damn thing since ics. All 3 of my browsers crash for no reason, if you try to watch a video in any browser it causes the browser to freeze, I have to charge the battery at least twice/day. Verizon support told me to clear the cache and do a factory reset (which I've done twice). The rep then told me that he hasn't heard of any problems with the phone. OK dude. Google problems with razr maxx and you'll see 40000 pages. Don't try to bullshit me...you are nowhere good enough. I've come to the realization that I got screwed when I upgraded to ics and the phone company isn't going to do anything about it. I've had a lot of people ask me about the phone because they like the larger screen. I work for a company with 60000 employees in one location. I've decided that I'm not going to let others make the same mistake that I did. I have no problem at all telling anyone who asks that I will not buy motorolla again, and will not recommend verizon to anyone because of their non-existant customer service.

Your phone may (deleted inappropriate content) but it may be isolated. My experience with this phone is completely opposite from yours. Its been great before and after ICS update. I have been VERY pleased with the battery and every aspect so far. As for verizon, I have never really had that bad of an experience with their customer service either, but that is subjective and customer service is good and (deleted content) at times with all providers. So just incase anyone else reads this thread, the Maxx has been a great phone and you really need to do your homework but just because one person goes on a rant doesn't mean that it actually counts for all of us.

I agree too. I have been with Verizon since they came to St. Louis about 20 years ago I think. They were kind enough to allow me to upgrade to the Maxx for $249 with my company discount after having the Bionic for only seven months that I bought that the day it was released which was a mistake on my part. I did lose a little battery time on the Maxx I think when I got ICS, but otherwise the phone is great. I get a new phone every two years if not sooner and this is the best so far. And the local Verizon has always been fair with me. I asked them in May if they could help a long time, loyal customer when my Bionic was driving me crazy. Sure enough, they took care of me. I won't forget that. However I didn't hollar and yell at them. I treated them with respect but stated the facts. Verizon isn't the cheapest, but I believe that you usually get what you pay for. I get a signal when others don't. And my basement is underground and I still get data. Visitors with other carriers can't even make a phone call on the upper floor of my house. Sorry for the ramble. This is just my experience. The Maxx is a great phone.

rcschnoor- To clarify......many homes in my area have walkout basements. So the front is underground but the back portion is above ground. Mine is entirely underground and I was trying to make a point of Verizon's service. I apologize if my comment offended you. I was trying to help. Perhaps you can add a HELPFUL comment?

No, your comment did not offend me, but obviously mine did offend you which was not it's intention.
Basement: n. The lowest habitable story of a building, usually below ground level.
If you were to make a statement such that your basement is above ground level, that would be useful information. Just using the term basement, though, would lead one to believe that it is below ground level and therefore unnecessary.

Alright, I understand. I'm sorry that I made an incorrect statement. Of the several Android and Motorola forums that I read almost daily, this was the only one that I joined. But quite often, I read comments made to another poster (one who posts a comment) either criticizing their comment and or their opinion. (Not here but on other sites.) For some reason I thought Verizon would like to hear some positive comments from a satisfied customer regarding their service and phone. But I don't need a dictionary's explanation of the meaning of "basement". I am amazed by the people sitting anonymously behind a monitor who wait to pounce. You can have your forum back as you won't see my "stupid" statements anymore.

You are reading WAAAAY too much into my original comment. It was a JOKE as indicated by the emoticons, ok? It wasn't meant to offend and I am sorry that it did offend you. In the future, I will try to give warnings when the intention is to add some levity to the discussion.
Your follow up comment asked for "HELPFUL" so I gave an explanation of "my joke". You really need to lighten up. The highlighted comment is not meant to offend and I apologize in advance in case it does.
