Ice Cream Sandwich bug with RAZR Google+ Instant Upload?

Motorola RAZR with recently updated Android 4.0.4 ICS

Google+ was added as a default application with this upgrade. The Surprise! was Google+ defaults to auto-upload photos to my Google+ page. So I fixed that option to No in Instant Upload in Google+ settings. (And then cleaned out the pictures on Google+ -- which does not automatic share after upload.)

But ... photos continued to Instant Upload until I went to *My Gallery* and found Quick Upload was set to Facebook. However the pictures weren't going to Facebook they had been going to Google+ (?). So I turned that off too. Problem appears to be solved.

Note to Verizon/Mortorola/Google on Ice Cream Sandwich.

  1. Stop *helping* me by setting any of photo upload options to defalut to automatic/quick/instant. Who sees my photos and when is my business.
  2. Check the relationship between the options for instant upload in Gallery and Google+

I also experienced and am experiencing this problem, even with instant upload turned off, google+ still prompts me about instant uploading any photos I take.

Initially it uploaded a couple hundred photos, which I had to manually delete.  Some of which were sensitive.  I currently can't uninstall or disable to application.  Please solve this, it makes the camera almost unusable as it is a huge privacy concern.

Follow Up. My initial "fix" did not work. It still uploads to GOOGLE+ in spite of the making the settings "no" for all instant upload/auto upload functions that I can find on my RAZR. I do not get a prompt message when this happens (is there a setting I am not using?).

The only mitigation I have been able to successfully establish is to set the upload to occur only when I am using WIFI with the recharger connected.

SERIOUS FLAW in Ice Cream Sandwich, either technical or in the layout of the options. I cannot find a way to stop this completely.

Hmmm. I can now see a choice in Google + for Instant Upload. I turned it to off. ICS 4.04 on machine. Problem seems solved.
