I've tried 8 times now to update my Razr Maxx with the new Jelly Bean update. It downloads fine, but fails during install. Any advice is appriciated.

If you haven't already, do a factory reset then the update.

Just remember that if you do a factory reset, you will be resetting your phone back to the point it would be new to you. You will have to link it to your google account again, sync everything, add all the apps back, setup email, etc.

Please make sure this is the last resort to try. Have you tried just restarting your phone? How much storage is available on the internal store area? Is your charge on the phone sufficient (Plugged in?)

I don't know if you tried this yet but did you do a soft reset of your device?

I believe its holding down the volume key with the power key. It may be a different way but that was the way I did it on my cell, I don't have your phone but a Motorola Razr and a LG Spectrum and an iPhone so like I said it may be different on your device.

Jim had a good idea in his reply. I hope it gets up and running

I've had the same problem. I've even did a factory reset. The update still fails to install. 😞

What i would then do is Take the Phone to your Local store and have them Flash the Phone see if clears the Phone to were you can then Download the OS and by the Way is this phone Normal = Fully stock if is Not there might be were your issue is..

Same here. 8 update attempts before factory reset, 8 update attempts after factory reset.  Fails at same point on progress bar during update.

How much more of my data plan are they going to use trying to push an update that doesn't work.  And no mention of this on the Support Site?

OS updates do not count against your data plan.

I also have the same problem even after performing the factory reset. I have tried a few times a day over the course of the last few days. Is there a more comprehensive thread active about this issue?
