There is debris under the glass. It could be dust but it's such a bright silver color that I'm thinking it's a spec of metal shaving from a screw or metal component when this phone was cracked open and fixed.
Also the plastic "MOTOROLA" tab above the earpiece has the previous owner's face gunk embedded in it. You know, the skin, grease, and ear cheese that one might find on a phone after holding it to the side of their head for some time. How nice.
Time for Razr Maxx number four.

Unfortunately, not really. I've read the horror stories about these CLNRs and now I'm writing my own. I haven't even gotten to the point of turning one of them on yet.

Hi demobetav2,
I am really sorry to hear about the replacement phone you recently received. Although our replacement phones go through a 100 point inspection by the manufacture, it looks like the ball was dropped somewhere in this process. Verizon as well as Motorola stand behind their products so we can absolutely get this corrected. If you need immediate assistance please feel free to reach out to our customer service department at 800-922-0204 or please follow me and then DM me your contact information so we can speak directly.
Thank you,
GeorgeP_VZW

So, a fourth phone is going to be sent out once they receive two of the three bunk replacements.
Now, I understand the vast majority of Verizon customers may not look over a phone and run hardware and software test applications upon receiving one, but I'm not sure I can deal with the deprecation of playing along with more CSRs over the phone.

This is Way more than one should have to to Go through.. 100 point inspection I'm wondering what part of the Device there Actually inspecting.. Plug it in..! It Works..! Send it On it's Way.. I think Verizon's Facility that does these 100 point inspections need's an inspection One from the B. B. B. or and undercover inspection from Consumer Reports..

Well, what ya gonna do I guess.
I'm just going to keep cycling through these things until I get a non-defective one. Maybe I'll just pay my pay my own way and send the original device into Motorola to be repaired and see how that goes.
I'm pissed I did a factory reset on the phone thinking I had a good one and now I'm too demoralized to sit and reset-up a dud phone.
Moral of the story? I don't know. How many people are going to notice small debris under the glass or a dead pixel (second phone had cracks and a power button that went deep into the casing, eh, noticeable)? Probably not the majority of VZW customers, and maybe that's what this CLNR program is banking on. How many people should have to receive CLNR phones with such defects? None, I hope.

This morning tech support told me they would call me Thursday to process another CLNR shipment as they cannot do it now with so many phones out; fair enough.
A few hours later I receive two texts from Verizon stating "Thank you! The defective device you recently returned has been received by Verizon Wireless."
Ah, so I just called customer service to see if I can't get the next replacement phone order processed now that two have been received. Well...customer service has no notice of them being received, I'm asked twice if I'm sure this is a message from Verizon and not from Fed Ex given that the warehouse isn't open on Saturday, and the system won't let the order be processed I then suggest that "I'll call Monday afternoon to see if I can process it then." I'm told "Oh, okay, thanks." Click.

Alright, just received my fourth CLNR Maxx, this one is from New Breed Corporations.
State of the phone: Screen looks clean, no debris under the glass. However, the door that houses the SD card and SIM card appears to be replaced; it opens with a very slight pull (current phone and other replacements required some effort and gave a "snap" when closed, this one does not). The door is also somewhat off color from the rest of the phone and the finish is different, it's not smooth and it has a brushed/scratched finish.
The back of the phone, where the kevlar meets the top of the phone where the radio and camera are housed is not flush. It's is lifted/bubbled in the middle, though slightly, and finger pressure can push it flat. It's clearly noticeable holding the two phones side by side.
I haven't turned it on yet, but I'm not sure I'm even going to. I don't believe I can be content keeping this crap.

Bleh, I sent back the fourth CLNR. I slept on it and decided I can't live with a keeping a replacement phone that's in worse physical condition than the broken phone I already have. I also sent an e-mail to Verizon CS in the hopes of receiving a detailed response (I have a tough time doing the phone charade and I don't know if sending out another CLNR is the best option). I'm considering mailing my phone to Motorola for warranty service. It will cost me about $7.00 though.
