Ok, I'm an Apple person all the way but went with this NEW Droid a couple of months ago. Set it all up and was getting my .Mac mail fine. Now all of a sudden I am NOT getting. Was on with Tech Support for an hour, nothing worked but we determined it wasn't Verizon. My husband has an iPhone and his mail is working fine. I deleted my .mac account on the droid and am using the @gmail account I had to set up when purchasing this phone.
What's the deal? Anyone know what I can do to resolve this problem? Makes me want to turn this darn thing in and get an iPhone. I love the Droid except for this!
I'm a a medium technical person so if anyone has any fixes for this, please feel free to address it like I was a in kindergarten!!!
Thank you,
Kate

I just set it up under the "EMAIL" app. "other".... !! I worked great for a few months!! We arrived in S.C. a month ago and this problem just started last week. I am stumped !! I just tried, today, to set it up again and that won't work either. Can't even set it up again as a new account.

When you set it up, are you using automatic or manual mode? I have noticed things not really work right when setup with automatic mode.

I had the same problem. Took me a long time to figure out but just got it working with Motorola level 2 support. For some reason the settings changed and they are different settings that what I got to work using the K-9 app. Basically, you need to change the incoming and outgoing server settings from what they were! incoming server is imap.mail.me.com. Use port 993, ssl/tls (accept all certificates) and authentication method should be LOGIN. Outgoing settings should be smtp.mac.com with port 587, require sign-in, authentication method is PLAIN

One million THANKS!!!!!! I have spent the better part of the day trying to figure this out. Bless you and all of your family for generations to come and all hail the mighty Google who led me to this post. Now maybe I can do something useful with my obsessive nature.
Seriously. Thank you.

You finally provided the correct answer. The Mac mail on my RAZR Maxx has been erratic since moving to Lion, but I stopped receiving completely 3 days ago. I've been to a number of forums/support sites, but no luck. All had portions of your solution, but not all in one place. Seems to be working now, at least for the moment. Thanks.
