Missed calls, recent calls

How can I see missed or recent calls? I am new to phone and have taken 1 class so far, watched You tube videos, etc.  I have had several times when phone rings but no one is there.

Open your Phone app and look under the Recent tab.  Placed calls have a green arrow, received calls have a blue arrow, and missed calls have a backwards red arrow.
