I have several other Wifi devices that connect to my Trendnet Router just fine. Laptops, Ipod Touch, Iphone, Kindle, etc.. All work great. However my Motorola Razr used to work pretty good, but now for the last month or so it will drop the wifi and reconnect randomly. I've read a lot of internet posts on the matter, but I can't see a solid fix for the problem, can anyone help me out? I've owned the Driod since Sept, so it's pretty new.

Same issue here. Brand new rzrmaxx hd - very disappointing since I switched carriers to get this. When I googled for this problem it is well known. I have 4.1.1 on the phone and am using a dlink dir-655 router. My droid is the only device on my home net that is dropping.

Cyberwooky and HeelToe, I can see why this issue would be disappointing. WiFi is a very important feature to have on a smartphone. I checked and I did see that some representatives have reported similar issues to our product team. Improvements to the wifi connection are expected in the next software update, but we don't have an exact date on the update yet. Check vzw.com/support under Device often for details on software updates. Once available, an update will be pushed to your device.
Thank you,

Do you have a better idea when the patch will be released. I'm ready to return the device and go back to my previous carrier. I have tried 20 MHZ, WPA instead of WPA2, disabled auto scan for the best channel, disabled QOS. All of these were mentioned on assorted posts as possible solutions. The phone just drops the connection and then enables the cellular data connection and then toggles back. The problem is so bad that just basic data connectivity is almost unusable and I regularly get connection dropped messages from the applications trying to utilize the connection.

I am a long time Verizon customer. Like HeelToe, I am on the verge of swapping carriers for this, and several other reasons. First, my connection dropped so many times while trying to reply to this post that I gave up and decided to use my laptop (no connection issues with other devices on my network).
I went to a local Verizon Store with my WiFi connection issues. They offered to replace my phones (two Razr's) but, I would have to do so via my insurance which would cost me $50 per phone. Inexcusable especially considering the phone is not the issue! The issues are due to OS updates! Meanwhile, we the customers are expected to continue to pay for shoddy service!?!?! Give me a break.
Also, what happened to unlimited data? Other carriers offer it. Why has Verizon chosen to take that option away?
Finally, what happened to the good old days when you could connect your phone to your PC and use it as a data modem? Verizon now expects us to pay $30 per month ($29.99) to use our phones as data modems? Really? I remember using my old Samsung flip phone to send faxes and as a dial up modem when my internet was out for whatever reason and never going over my limit.
Verizon, you need to at a minimum fix the WiFi issues A.S.A.P. Not knowing when an update will be provided is not the type of customer service anyone should be expected to pay for. And for goodness sake, give us back our data connections to our PC and at least an option to have unlimited data!
