While surfing the net I discovered that 4.0 was made available to the Razr Maxx yet my OS is still 2.3.6? Why have I not received the upgrade?

Have you gone in to check for any updates? APPS | SETTINGS | ABOUT PHONE | SYSTEM UPDATES

What does it tell you?

Then the question back to you has to be "Why do you need to repeat the ICS installation?"

Ok, sounds good. I don't know if you know this or not, once you do an upgrade on the phone, that upgrade OS becomes the default OS. So if you ever had to do a Factory Reset, the last update you did (ICS in this case), will be what is installed. This is a little different than in other areas, like PC's and such.

BE happy if you haven't upgraded, it's a disaster!  Problems with battery usage, getting extremely hot, blue tooth incompatibility, web connections dropped, data usage etc.,etc!!!!!!!!!

I have not experienced any of those problems. Many others have reported them. The .214 and .215 update should fix the battery problems. It appears that half of the users have horrible issues and the other half do not. I don't see any pattern to it either.

I think he is talking about fixes that are due to be released.

After you install ICS you have to install two bug fixes, .214 & .215, to fix the battery issues. My battery lasts all day.

I have never been able to get white screen to come up, only very fleeting white bar across screen when pressing both power and volume buttons.
