Just a quick poll. Due for a upgrade since April. Should I take the chance on the new Razr or stay look elsewhere? Just looking for opinions. Thanks

I'm personally looking forward to the HTC Rezound (Vigor), not that I'll have the money for one when it comes out, but the three best phones on VZW by the end of November should be the RAZR, Rezound and the Galaxy Nexus. Really it comes down to personal preference.

One thing about the Droid Razr is that you can not remove the battery. At least this is what I was told. I do have to do a battery pull on occasion. However, there might be a workaround. The Bionic also sounds like a sweet phone. I still have a little while before I can upgrade and who knows what else will come tripping down the road between now and then. The only thing that I know for sure is that I am not interested in any eye phone.

I would say no.....Motorola has not done very well with the Droid X updates and I personally would not want to deal with that all over again. Yeah all electronics have problems, but I have been completely put off of anything to do with Motorola. I had a Moto flip phone a few years back and that phone was so poorly put together that I swore off Moto back then cause you could barely drop that phone 2 inches and the casing would completely fall off (I take care of my phone and this was not because it had been previously dropped....just very poorly designed). I took another chance with the Droid X and while it is a great phone, the service behind it by Moto and VZW (with regards to the Gingerbread update) has been very very poor. After this phone I will never own another Moto product. They are not the quality of Moto radio side (I know Moto mobile is a seperate entity, now owned by Google) which is to me what made Moto a quality electronics player.
There are much better phones than the Razr out there or on the way. As much as I love Android, I think I will probably end up with another iPhone when the contract with the Droid X runs out out. I never had one single problem with my iPhone and it has finally reached the level of being equal to the Android OS. Unless something better is available when I am able to get another phone, unfortunately that is probably where I will end up, since by that time the iPhone 5 will probably be out

Checked it out. Seems to be a nose-to-nose race, with the slight edge to Samsung's Galaxy Nexus. Is the battery removeable in the Galaxy Nexus. So far, nothing has been said about the cost. Will it be the same price as the Bionic? Time will tell. Thanks for the link, it was interesting.

Just got a razr and the screen cracked after a short 20 inch drop onto the floor.
Very disappointing. Doesn't appear that durable despite having a kevlar case and gorilla glass.
Don't recommend this, but if you do get one make sure you get insurance.

You can crack ANY phone with a 20" drop if it lands right. That's not bad craftsmanship, it's a clumsy phone owner.

Looking at all the communities, Razr has complaints, Bionic has complaints, etc. Yes, some of them are self-inflicted; but something interesting; as it stands right now, the HTC Rezound has no beefs. Hmmm! I'm going to look into this one and compare it with the Galaxy Nexus (which was my first choice) and the Razr (which was a distant second). Plus, all the 4G phones will be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich by February, or so I've heard.

I LOVE my new Rezound. As you put it, no beefs (well, actually, sometimes I have to hit the power button twice to get it to sleep, the first press sometimes takes me to the lockscreen).

The Galaxy Nexus also sounds like a good one. It will have Ice Cream Sandwich right on it. From what I've seen, it almost completely changes the Android system. It has some really sweet features.

You can do a hard reset on the Razr. It is something like holding the power button and one of the volume buttons and it resets it like a battery pull.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Seems like with each new highly anticipated phone release, there is unmitigated disappointment.
Wait, above all things, wait. Give the Razr, or any new phone, time to reveal its warts.
