I am thinking of returning this phone because so many things use the flash-player. Is there an alternative? This phone is ok. Definitely better than the Droid 2. From all the comments it looks like one should not download the update, yet, until bugs are worked out?

You have to complain to Adobe about the lack of flash player. They are the ones who decided to drop support for it.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Thanks to the two of you. Is there an alternative to use? If I had known, I might have bought the Samsung III, etc. In reviews of the Razr/&Maxx I didn't see any mention about it. In my life's experiences, most decisions are made regarding money and greed.
My next concern regards the update which I delayed, (2X). However, I don't to have to deal with issues from updating. What are your opinions?

Well i think a big part of Adobe's decision was HTML 5 but even though it's in the Browsers there is Much for some sites it's lacking compared to Adobe Flash but you can't really Argue with change and when a company does this all you can do is Move on Say O well..

Yeah.....flash wont be on the siii or any other android with a recent version of android OS on it. If you really want it you can Google the matter and find a way to get it (without altering your device), but it's no longer part of android (or any mobile OS) or in the play store. It's a shame if you ask me. I use it and it runs just fine, and weather anyone wants to acknowledge it or not, we are a LONG way from everything being HTML5 (or whatever its called).

+ 1 AZ that is why i left ICS on my Maxx i'm doing Just like i did with it and Gingerbread i Kept it on there as Long as i could i will do the same with ICS..
But i think what gets me and Paul and i Talked about it allot is why Adobe made the effort they did to come to Android make the Browsing allot easier but then when things Amped up They jumped ship like a like a scared Mouse they said we can't make it here and HTML5 will take over well if it is here it Doesn't help like when i Go to the Local TV station to view Weather Bugs Wind and wind Direction Monitor it basically shows it as a Frozen Still with Adobe you can actually see it saying it's connecting to the Server other than that i guess HTML5 is doing it's thing..
