Pairing with Bluetooth in a 2006 BMW

I can't re-pair my Droid Razr HD (replacing an older Droid) with the Bluetooth in my 2006 BMW. There's no manual that came with the phone and the on-line "manual" talks about headsets. I'm not going to use a headset- why should I when my car has Bluetooth capability? So far Verizon has no idea how to solve this problem, leaving me, the customer, on their own.

I'd hate to take the phone back to Verizon after less than a week. The thought of the agony of that makes my knees week. Does anyone else have BMW Bluetooth pairing experience with the Razr HD that they can share?

Thank you.

I don't have a BMW, but when I paired with my car, it was done by having the car find the phone.  Bluetooth turned on and phone in "visible" mode.  Check your vehicle  manual to see if there is additional info there.

At first the car couldn't find the phone. What I had to do was delete the prior phone so nothing was paired. Then re-pair the new phone with the car. Except for the car repeatedly asking for access to the Contacts list, which I kept granting,it now works. I was able to tell the car to stop asking for access to the list, so I don't know if I can access Contacts through the car's Bluetooth or not. But since I couldn't before I don't miss it.
