I had two successive 3rd party application crashes and then went to the browser. I got on to google and typed in my search and the device froze. I performed a soft reset with Power + Down volume but now I get no response from the device. I have tried just the power button, the power + vol down and power + vol up and all three. I'm traveling for Thanksgiving so i'd really not like to waste family time sitting in a store and obviously friday will be stupid busy. What else can I do?

Well whatever happened, it got filed under warranty with Motorola without any hassle, and I don't have anything other than the manufactures 1yr. I actually had a really good experience at the Verizon store, which hasn't been very common for me.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are third party applications?

Any application that wasn't pre-installed on your device.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
