Phone plays the beginning of the TA-DA sound but no message or email

A couple of days ago my three month old phone decided to for no reason starts to play the TA-DA notification. It doesn't play the whole thing but the green light also come on. No emails etc. Just an anoying sound that makes jump thinking I have an incoming email. I have done several soft boots.

That is understandable especially when your not ready for it.. Give this a Try.! Try a Clearing of the Cache Partition and See if that might help your Situation..Or you may have to Clear the Cache for the Email but try the First Suggestion and Hopefully it will clear it Up for Ya Sir.! Top Alternate method
- Power the device off.
Press the Power button then select Power off.
If the device doesn't respond to input, press and hold the Volume Up / Down then press and holdPower button. When the device screen goes blank release the Power button while continuing to holdVolume Up / Down, proceed with step 3.
- Press and hold the Volume Up / Down then press the Power button.
- When presented with the Boot Mode Selection Menu release all buttons.
- Press Volume Down to select Recovery then press Volume Up.
- From the Droid triage screen, simultaneously press Volume Up / Down.
- Select Clear the Cache Partition then press the Power button.
- Select reboot system now then press the Power button.

Do you have the play store on auto update? I believe after it updates it'll make the sound if the screen is off. Sometimes the notification for it disappears. Kind of annoying at times.

My husband had the same problem with his Maxx, I tried everything and eventually did a factory reset. The issue was resolved and hasn't returned. Clearing the data did nothing to correct the issue. Hope this helps.

Problem solved. I had changed my email password but forgot to update the password on my phone. Updated the password and it stopped.
FYI, I had to create another account to log in to the forums. When I try to log in to the forums it sends me to the register page. Type in my information and it says that the information is already in use.
