I will be moving from T-Mobile to Verizon in the near future, if I get a new Verizon cell phone with a new # how long will I have to port my old number to my new Verizon cell phone?

The OP can get a temporary number on the Verizon Wireless line and later port the other phone number over onto that line of service.

I have done it when I was purchased my Tbolt in April 2011. I had been a Verizon Wireless customer until the Alltel merger. My original Verizon line was sold to AT&T and it was transitioned there in the beginning of April. Within a week, I knew the service wasn't going to cut it. So I purchased the Tbolt under a new account and new number. I didn't port over my number right away because there were a few more areas I wanted to test the AT&T signal. Two weeks after I purchased the Tbolt, I ported over my original preferred phone number on top of the temp number.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

When you get the new Verizon phone, tell them upfront that you want to port your old number from T-Mobile.  Once Verizon assigns a number to your new phone I don't think you can port your old number to it.

I could be wrong about this so hopefully someone who knows for sure will correct me if I am wrong. (then we'll both learn something) Smiley Happy
