I think you have to add your sounds to the "Notifications" folder.

Hey bxsnipe!

Congrats on your new phone! I hope you are loving the Razr Maxx! I know having different ringtones for different notifications makes answering your various e-mails and texts much easier.

If I may ask, the custom ringtones that you have, where are they from? Are they from a third party application? Were they purchased on www.verizonwireless.com? Were these songs that you had that you shrunk down to make into ringtones? Either way, if you have them on your phone, you can make them available for a notification ringtone.

I agree with Duewester that you need to save your sounds into a different folder for them to show up under the native notification tone list. Please follow these steps:

1. Go under "My Files" under your "Apps"
2. Then find the file(s) you want (I assume they are under the SD Card and you may need to hunt for them a bit, but if you have them installed they should be there)
3. Press and hold on the file to copy it (you will get a pop up menu and select "Copy")
4. Press the back arrow until you get to select "Internal Phone Storage."
5. Find the Notifications folder and click into it.
6. Click on the button that says "Paste Here"

Once pasted, your song will now show in the list when you go to change the text notification sound or the calendar notification sound! Feel free to do this with one or all of your tones!

Thanks!

Tried this on my Razr Maxx, it doesn't work for notifications, but it does work if saved in the Ringtones folder for ringtones.  Is there any reason I shouldn't be getting the notifications to be seen by the phone?

Hi DenMan,

I'm not aware of any reason for this not work. Have you tried (is it an available option for you) to save your tones in the notifications folder? Give that a try and keep us posted.
