Yesterday I ended a call on my beautiful Droid Razr Maxx and it froze. At the time I did not have internet access so I did'nt know about the power/volume fix.
NONE of the buttons are responsive.
How?
Why?
I have to believe that an update caused this. I have been one to believe "If its not broke, there is no need to fix it",unlike I.T. folks.
Im about 4 months into this purchase and Im interested in returning it to Motorola under the year warranty. (is it a year on this phone?)
Can you stop the updates? Should you stop the updates?

Call Motorola.
You've tried the Volume Down / Power button trick? If you plug it into a wall charger does the charge LED light up?

It lights up and will even power up. But s all on its own. When its off, the buttons are unresponsive. Maybe even a delay possibly......

First thing.... Try charging from wall plug, it isn't ever wise to charge it from the pc when you are having issues powering it up, usb usually dont have enough power.

This is absolutely the first thing i would not Do is charge Via a computer as you say Wildman not Enough Power it just does not do the same as the Box charger provides in some ways i don't why Manufactures started sending these type of chargers and cables) it's alright to have a cable for the Transfer of the Data but other than that Drop a O.E.M. fully Corded charger like they use to Do plus the cord is more pliable and Longer.. These are the Only chargers i use on my Razr's the chargers that came with them are still in the Box.. b33

Right now the phone is off. Nothing on the screen. I cannot cut it on. An hour from now it will probably be on. When it does come on it will be functional. When I cut it off, its nothing I can do to cut it on except plug it in to something.

It just came on. Its acting normal. If I cut it off I will not be able to cut it back on.
Can I back door the phone from my laptop?
The power button works when the phone is on. In fact it works fine.
Right now the phone is on and all the buttons work.
If I cut it off...its off till I plug it into something.
Battery has a full charge and I can unplug it right now and its fine... as long as I do not cut it off.
All from freezing up after ending a call!

I wonder if you'r eholding the power button too long or not long enough. If it works to turn it off, seems like it ought to work to turn it on, yes? "Back door the phone...???" What would that accomplish?

I know I said it will function while its on but not yesterday.
In fact as I wrote this it cut itself off.
Im just going to call motorola.
