Just bought a Razr M last night. Gmail works fine but the stock email app that I'm using for my Yahoo account won't automatically check for new email and I get no notifications. I have verified the settings to notify me and to check for new email every 15 minutes but I have to go into the app and manually hit the refresh before I receive any new emails.
Did you try removing theYahoo Account and re-adding it ?

We wanted to check if you tried the option from Cody21. If this doesn't resolve the trouble, I encourage you to delete the Yahoo account from the stock email account and download the Yahoo Mail app from Google Play and see if this works better. Keep us posted!

This is what I do and it works great. I just link ALL my email accounts (Yahoo, Comcast, AOL etc - up to 5, GMail makes it 6 total) to GMail and assign a different color label for each account. That way, you have 1 app for everything without the bother of switching between apps to view or reply. You can even send mail from any of the other linked accounts with the "From pull-down" when composing.

The Verizon salesperson had set up the Yahoo account as an IMAP account. When I deleted it and set it up as POP it worked fine.
