Razr M

Screen refreshes periodically on some apps like when reading news apps or when using Chrome.  Sometimes the home screen icons blank out for a second then come back also.  This happens without even touching the screen.  Any ideas?

This is not the normal behavior for a RAZR M.  Make sure your SIM and SD card are fully seated.  May be an app that you have installed; try running in safe mode for a while to see if the problem goes away.  If the problem disappears then it was an app misbehaving.  Try a reset; volume down and power buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.  Lastly, you may have to do a factory reset.  Then if it's still happening it may be warranty exchange time.

Another thought; you haven't messed with the developer settings have you?

OK, what do I need to do to operate it in safe mode?  I have been in touch with Motorola and they are telling me to contact their "2nd level" troubleshooting team.

Another problem I just found out is that when I connect my phone via USB cable, my computer does not recognize it and the device manager does not start up.  The phone charges via USB, but that is all.

I appreciate you help with this!

There have been many discussions about PC connection problems search the Verizon forums and try some of the discussions.  Also try a Google search.
