Razr Maxx HD camera quit working.

I've had this phone for 20 days now. About 8 days ago I realized my back camera (where the flash is) quit working, it hasn't been dropped or come into contact with any type of liquid. I tried wiping the camera cache, deleting all apps that can access the camera and wiping the cache, restarting in safe mode, cache wipe through recovery mode, and finally a factory reset. Nothing helped, I called Verizon Tech Support last week and spoke with them and they said I already did everything they'd suggest and said I'd need to go to a Verizon store to get it replaced since it's a hardware problem. I went today, but turns out I have to go to a corporate store instead of the Verizon store (it's a smaller Verizon store in the little town near where I live) I went to. The closest corporate store is over an hour away, so that's a no go today. So, here I am with a phone less than a month old, and apparently if I try to replace it I'm going to have to get it replaced through Asurion? It says I only have 14 days to send it back, which I found out today on here, and now I'm at 20 days of having the phone. The only problem I have is that I don't really want to send it to Asurion to get a phone because I've had a TERRIBLE time with them in the past. The previous phone I had was a HTC Thunderbolt and the original phone I had worked perfectly until my screen cracked. When I sent it to them their "Like-New" replacement phone, which costed $99 to get, was complete garbage. The first one they sent I couldn't get a data connection the majority of the time and when I did I could only get 1x when I was only 2 miles from a 4G tower that I always had 4G or 3G before. Tech Support said it was a hardware problem, so I sent that one back. The second Thunderbolt phone I received from them had the data working normally, but I was unable to send text messages and to make a phone call I had to keep it on speaker at all times or else the call would drop. I didn't even bother with getting another replacement as I felt paying $99 for a replacement isn't worth it when I receive 2 "like-new" phones that aren't even near how my original was as far as quality. If my only choice is to go through them again with this Razr Maxx HD phone, which once again I've had less than a month and paid a big price for it on Verizon's website, then I guess I'm screwed as I don't want to go through the trouble of sending a phone that works fine besides a faulty camera (which is an issue these phones seem to suffer from as I've found other people having the same problems from searching online forums) just to get a phone that may not even work like my current. I went through nearly 4 months with my last Thunderbolt without even being able to make calls half the time and never being able to send text messages except through an app I downloaded which used data connections to send texts. I'm really in a rough place here. I'm not too happy knowing I can't get a brand new phone after I paid so much for this one, and I'm not too happy knowing that I'm probably going to have to go through the phone insurance to get a new phone when the past phones I've gotten from them that should be of equal quality to my current one have both been faulty.

So, the question is, is Asurion the only way to go? Because this is clearly some type of problem with Motorola's Razr Maxx HD phones as I'm not the only person that's had this problem. The others I have found online that have the same problems have all occurred around 3 weeks of having the phone, which seems to be some type of hardware problem with these phones.

Nitsujustin,

It truly saddens me to hear that you have experienced this trouble after having the device for such a short time. The Droid Razr Maxx HD is a fantastic device. I definitely want you to have full functionality of the device. I do notice that you mentioned that it stopped working but can you provide additional information towards the current functionality of the camera.

The phone does have a manufacturers warranty of 1 year. The device may be sent in to the manufacturer for repair but this may take several weeks for the device to be returned. In addition, if there is no physical or water damage as you stated the device may be replaced with no cost to you by our Customer Service team.
