Looks like I'll be going back to my old LG Spectrum. It seems that 4G and the Motorola Razr Maxx don't get along. I have no problem getting 4G on my LG Sprectrum. So, good bye Motorola Razr, you've been benched.

Hey, mortb.
Are you in an area where Verizon Wireless just announced expansions of the 4G LTE network? B33 has a post about the locations in the 4G LTE section of this community. I have been thinking for some time that areas where they are testing seem to also have data issues on user's devices.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Ann i agree Totally Because in the Time i was over in Mac. they had flipped the Signal Back N fourth a couple of Times and i was Surprised in a Way to see it on in the Day time as Usually they Test at night But it was on and it Was Fast Ann. One time i got a Reading of 12 mbps Down & 13 mbps Upload and i even had one Test that Pounded the Meter With a 32 Mbps Download you don't see that Too often. You can but you have to Be in the Right Spot to get it.. But Mortb Hang in there i think it will Better..

Could be that they are messing around with the signal in this area. However, what is funny is that my LG Spectrum never lost 4G whereas my Razr Maxx did. Could it be that Motorola is messing around?

It's hard to say Mortb but i can understand why your frustration is Probably Mounting you Just want the Maxx to work but it's throwing a Curve Balls instead. And i tell ya with the New Updated i'm still baffed at the Different settings you now have to Set them on Heck My Maxx isn't even on CDMA/LTE any More it's on Global and i did even put it There as Soon as the Update was done it set it There itself..i'm still scratching the Head on that one. b33

Maybe the Motorola is more sensitive to fluctuations in the signal?

There is a definite unofficially confirmed issue with both Razr's.
When I started having problems with my Razr and started escalating my calls I was sent w/o charge a brand stinking new Maxx - with the caveat from the network engneers and tier 2-3 support rep that I was going to have the same, random radio dropout.
This is NOT just a 4G dropout it's as if the radio's are simply switched off but with no visual indicator that it's occured. Everything got escalated when they figured out where I was so it could very likely be a combination of firmware on the towers in certain areas and the Razr radios. In fact, that is what I suspect. It seems possible that they rushed the 4G rollout in the Wichita area and are now having to backtrack to bring the towers up to speed.
P.S. "Tower" isn't the correct term but I don't know what is and since "tower" is the common term, it's what I use. I'm a LAN Network Engineer myself so using incorrect terminology bugs me lol.

These dropouts are also happening in the Kansas City area. However, keeping an eye on my Razr, yesterday I had no dropped 4G. Maybe they found the problem here in the Heartland, and fixed it. I hope.
