Yes, I am using the charger that came with it. I did a hard reset and downloaded a software update that showed up afterwards and it then charged all night. so far today it seems to be behaving normally. Time will tell.

Keep in mind that with Verizon, time is not on your side. When I was with AT&T, I had 30 days to decide. Now, since Verizon only gives me14 days, if my phone does anything wonky in that 14 day period, it goes back fast and as often as necessary until I get one that doesn't do something wonky. It might be something a factory reset will fix, or it might be a recurring problem that doesn't happen again until your 14 days have passed. If Verizon doesn't want to keep replacing my new phones every time they hiccup, they need to give me more than 14 days to work out the kinks.
This is not a Verizon bash. I was with AT&T for 15 years, but I'm in an area where Verizon by far has the best coverage, I have had great customer service and I love the phones, but their trial period needs to be longer.
