Razr "Unlimited" Issues

I got the Razr in a recent promotion that allowed me to keep my "unlimited" data but move to 4G.

I got it close to the end of the billing cycle, and everything was fine until the cycle restarted.

Its been half a month and I have gone through about 5 GB of data.

My Razr just terminated all 3G/4G connection and said that I had reached my data limit.

What happened to "Unlimited" and how can I get data back on my phone?

sounds like  you turned on the monitor system within the OS.  With ICS and above there is a built in data monitoring tool.

From the home Screen, hit the MENU button, click on SYSTEM SETTINGS, and then choose DATA USAGE, and it will show you a graph with the amount of data you have used. There is a known "bug" in the phone where Verizon set a "limit" of 5GB of data before the mobile data will shut off. Select the "SET MOBILE DATA LIMIT", and choose OK, and then you should be able to slid the bar up to some extreme amount of data, like 1TB or something like that. You should also set the warning way up high to that also.

This should fix your problem.

Unless you paid retail price for your razr you no longer have unlimited data. You are now contracted for a data amount that has been your last few months average, maybe 6GB. If you want more you have to change your plan to include more @ $10 for every 2GB. Or you could drop down $10 for ever 2GB. Your smart phones are $40 each and your share everything plan price is depending on the amount of data you want to share. See the link from Verizonl  Smiley Sad

Where are you getting your information from? Do you personally know the original poster on whether or not they actually have an unlimited data plan? And where the heck did you come up with the idea that they would be contracted with the average of the last few months?

I get my information from reading various news and tech sites and personal experience. Your point is well made that I don't even know the original poster to whom I replied. In fact I don't know 99.9% of the blogers I either answer or have answered me and I have no way of telling if they are the least bit truthful. I do appologize if I offended anyone by spelling out the Verizon Share Everything options. A good sales rep would average the last several months as a starting point but the decision is yours, the customer, as to what data plan level you would like. If you averaged 10GB you could contract for a plan that gives you 2GB, or visa versa. Neither of which makes any sense. Please correct me where I am wrong. I'm not a know it all and was merely passing along information based on what I had learned through various sources.

Where you said "You are now contracted for a data amount that has been your last few months average, maybe 6GB"

When comparing the current plans to the Share Everything plan, you are right in that people should take an average use over the last 6 months or so, but to come right out and tell them they are now contracted for that data amount when you do not know what the OP has is the issue. You have to take the OP at their word to begin with in their statement that they are still unlimited. The Mobile Data being turned off is a known issue with the RAZR/MAXX since the ICS update, there are numerous threads out there with the resolution. That is what I suggested for them to look at first.
