Razr screen is unresponsive

My Razr screen is unresponsive but also randomly opening apps and other things.  My favorites are jumping around and randomly opening and closing and it is just generally out of control.  I've done a reboot where you hold the down volume and the power button several times and it is not fixing it.  I can see it right now, sitting on my desk and the pictures on the screen are dancing.

Sounds like a Bad App if you have done a Soft reset with no affect You might Might try this the Apps you have on your phone Remove one at a time then Do a restart if it Clears up you found the Source.  If that does not work your in for a Factory Reset there not Hard to do a little time consuming an you'll will need to back up your Contacts to Google or Back up Assistant. The store can do this for ya or Contact C.S. ask for Tech Services an they can go thru a Fr with you But try what i first pointed out first an see if this Corrects the Issue. Let me know the Results B33

Ok.  Just a quick question, would it just start randomly if you hadn't downloaded anything new if it were a bad ap?  I don't think I've added anything in a few days and wondered if I should start with what I think I added last or just choose different things to remove.

@shanhar:  Well I'm not trying to tell what you can or can't put on your Phone you need to have a sharp Eye though when downloading a app or apps.  Look at the Comments that are listed with each App. An this can Happen even a good application can have issues or issues with other ones you have installed on your Phone an some apps can change things on your Phone. When you get ready to download a app it will list the things it will do to your phone after it's downloaded. But one thing that is Nice on your phone if a app gives an issue you can simply Unistall it... Smiley Happy  B33

I have had this problem with my Razor occasionally (and my last Android phone)  where a call will come in and I can't answer it.  What works for me is to quickly hit the power button off and on, swipe the screen to login.  My screen is then responsive and I can answer the call at least until the next time it happens.   I don't think it's necessarily a bad app as I've seen it happen too many times when I haven't added anything to the system.

@rich7, Thanks, but I've had this thing turned on and off so many times, I'm afraid of wearing out the power button.  It does seem to improve for just a bit (like minutes), but out of the blue it starts again.

@B33 I understand.  I was just wondering if it would be something that had been on your phone for a few days that would just randomly start causing problems.  I'm not sure which apps to start deleting as I haven't added anything for a while.  I guess I'll just start with my most used.

Thanks all for the help.  My 14 days are up tomorrow, if this doesn't fix it, I may have just enough time after work to make it to the Verizon store this evening before they close.

Just a suggestion if you was to take it back they're showing the Regular Razor's in stock an they may have them at your Local Store as for the Maxx if you would want to upgrade to it an i would simply for the larger batter as for the other stuff in it. It's the Same.. they say they will ship out the 12 of this Month.

One thing to Note on my Maxx i an Getting at least 2 days an 12Hours out of it.. on a single Charge..

Hello Shanhar! I would have to agree with B33. It sounds like there is a bad app on the device that is causing your Razr to behave in this manner. I hope by now your issue has been resolved, but I do want to add my 2 cents in case anyone else should come across this problem.

I would first put the Razr in Safe Mode before doing a full hard/factory reset.

Safe mode is a method that allows the device to run without non-essential applications. This step is beneficial for troubleshooting 3rd party applications. If the device doesn't jump around doesn't open & close thing randomly while in safe mode, then we know there is a faulty app that needs to be removed. You can begin with deleting the most recently downloaded app (if you can remember).

If the device is still erratic while in safe mode, the next step is a hard/factory reset.

If you still have concerns after the hard reset, we need to look into replacement options.

Thanks for your time!
