I have a Droid Razr Maxx....I went to plug it into the charger (it still had about 40 % battery left) ...and it shut off completely. I unplugged it and still can't get my phone to come on...Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions?
Soft reset, hold down the volume down and the power button at the same time, for about 10 seconds.

I hope you're back up and running with Droid Usrr's suggestion. Smart phones are like mini computers and sometimes they just need to reboot.
