I'm going to leave this open to help users get the most out of their Razr devices. Any other posters and/or community leaders feel free to add and/or correct what I post in this thread.
Ever since ICS and now Jellybean, I've noticed that my battery life is nowhere near what I got from Gingerbread. Of course, with all the latest updates and advancements to Google's operating systems, UIs (user interfaces) have become more resource intensive meaning it utilizes more of your device's memory and battery. While the Maxx and Maxx HD are specifically designed for this, it still falls short of once was phenomenal battery life.
Because we're not allowed to discuss certain things pursuant to the terms of service agreement, I've actually frozen what I don't use but will here on out refer to them as disabled according to the applications manager. Starting with Applications in the applications manager: if the option is highlighted to disable it and you don't use it, disable it. I don't use a lot of stuff so I'm not going to recommend what to disable and leave the choice up to you. Specifically, I find the majority of gapps (Google apps) Verizon apps and Moto Blur (Motorola Services) memory and battery hogs so they're disabled. Backup Assistant is not all it's cracked up to be, it's memory and battery intensive as well. I've found other apps in the play store that utilize less resources and also offer the option to clear cache and history of all apps that have been used and you want to free up space in memory usage. The all in one toolbox is what I use and recommend.
I'm a power user and don't use a lot of apps on my device, just apps I use for what I want and some games. This is where I leave it open for all others to pitch in. Recommendations for gamers, video and music streamers and individuals who have and live their life on their devices i.e. the business community.
