Nmvesper, it's important to us that all of your messages are able to get communicated. We're here to assist. This matter was a known issue associated with our SmartFamily service. As a result, if you're still experiencing this issue a trouble ticket would need to be filed. Can you clarify if you're currently experiencing this issue or was it only occurring with a number that you'd blocked either purposely or on accident?

Yes that is what I was told as well. I don't want to be reminded that someone I blocked is trying to reach out to me every time with these messages. It's annoying

Hightea01,

Receiving these messages every time someone who is blocked tried to reach out to me would be annoying as well. This issue was resolved by our network team a few months back, and it was an issue tied to Usage Alerts/Smart Family. When was the last time you received this insufficient funds message? Are you still receiving them consistently? If so, we'll move forward with lifting this up to our network/IT team, once again.

Hello,

I just blocked some for the first time last night. Today I received 6 of the same message that is being referred as being fixed. The message reads You were unable to receive a text message due to a device restriction or insufficient funds. Will I have to see this message everytime the blocked person tries to reach out?

Bc you blocked that number. Verizon should be smart enough to know that they changed how they block numbers we now got these annoying text messages every time they text us saying insufficient funds and they don't receive anything to know they are blocked only we keep getting their annoying text messages

realize it is frustrating to have to keep receiving text messages about the information that you have an issue with a check that came back as insufficient funds, Audisrtic. Also, it is a concern about how a number was blocked that was not updated to remove the block. Let me help you with both of these concerns. The messages about the issues with your check not going through are just to let you know about the problem and to avoid issues with your account being suspended for Non- Payment. Do you have the notifications set-up to avoid receiving those messages on your line? Also, we offer a service to block numbers or unlock numbers if they were set up to be blocked by the user. This option is controlled solely by the customer and we do not randomly unblock numbers as it is the customer's choice. Do you have the Verizon Call filter set-up to unblock the number you wish to receive messages from? I like the option shared by David as it does seem to help with the concern and worth trying out.

I rely on sending our messages to my group chat too Mccola6. I am sure you would like your text messages to go through without any errors. I am sure we will figure this out and help you. I do want to confirm, what is the make and model of your device? Could you tell us if this is happening with a specific number or just your group chat? What messaging application are you using? Tell me more about when this all started. AmberF_VZW

My bill is past due. Is verizon limiting my postpaid service until I pay my bill?

I am having this problem too.  It started about 10 days ago.  It is a text message from my own number to my own number.  Verizon, you were told about this problem 8 months ago.  Your customers are not all crazy, this is a real problem and you need to fix it.

I have unlimited talk and text through Verizon no prepaid.  Could this have anything to do with blocked callers?

My Verizon call filter app was blocking one of my contacts. (My Girlfriend!!! LOL)

So what I did was search for her phone number in the app, and unblock it.

That solved the problem for me! Hopes this helps!

I stumbled on a phone troll while using craigslist this morning, and blocked their number in the verizon system, after a couple of obscene texts.  Now my phone has gone crazy with these "Recipient" messages.

After reading other's experiences here, and what's happening now, I'm assuming that this happens every time the troll tries to msg me.  The message on his phone should say "Message failed", and this is my end of the Verizon feedback on that.

On the humorous side, in the last 20 minutes or so, he's tried to troll me 8 times, and failed.  I think I popped his head off its stem.  It was aggravating having to figure out what the "Recipient" msg meant, but in the end, well worth it!  I'm smiling.

Stu6,

I certainly understand how those messages could get old quickly. Keeping people blocked who are sending inappropriate messages is a big deal. We're glad to help. Which service in our system are you using to block these messages?
