Repeating reboot of my Droid Maxx began 9/22/2015

My Droid Maxx began to repeatedly reboot since the morning of 9/22/201.  Salesman at my local Verizon store tried a factory reset without success. Has anyone learned 1) what caused this to occur and 2) best remedy to restore the phone to function ?
