Are you gettiing any errors on the SEND ?? If you login to MY VERIZON, are you seeing the TEXT msg actually making it to their Server (under your Text msgs that are list there). Or is the message just "vanishing" ?? Which MSG APP are you using?

Its not making past my phone. The text messages are failing. It has the green arrow like its going to send but never does. I receive a message in my notification bar about 5 minutes later stating that the text message failed. I am able to receive text messages w. no problem. I am not using any text messaging apps. I am using the text message software that came w. the OS. Verizon has loooooong hold times right now. What do you think it could be? Phone issue or network?

Try going into Settings / Manage Apps / All (tab) ... scroll down to TEXT MESSAGING and click on it ... Select CLEAR DATA, then Force Stop ... reboot and try it again ...

Thanks for the info Cody21. James Johnston, I know that text messaging issues are no fun, especially when lots of customer use text for over half their communication. I also recommend clearing old/long text threads along with clearing the cache/browser history on your phone. Also try power cycling your phone to reset it's connection to the towers. I was unable to locate any reported issues in your area. Please let me know if any of the steps above worked. ^KH

Hi mufasawc. Let's get to the bottom of these messaging troubles right away. When you say the green arrow is there for a while, how long is a while? Depending on the message length, if there's any attachments, and the signal strength on your phone a message can take anywhere from a few seconds up to 2 minutes to send at times. I'm glad the messaging on Facebook and Chatheads is working out alright, but those will go through your data network a little differently than text. Did the errors on your Droid 4 start after a particular application was installed? If you haven't already, try deleting some of the messages and threads http://vz.to/18APRgp on your phones to help clear up message memory. If you still have the error, please reply with the exact error your getting too.
Thank you

Mufasawc, thanks for the details. Three phones in three different places isn't a coincidence. It sounds like the software update may be conflicting with downloaded applications on your devices. I recommend that you delete applications and then re-download them to your phones. This will improve the performance of your devices. Keep us posted.

I have had 2 of the 3 phones replaced due to other issues so apps have been reinstalled. I believe the problem is in the operating system texting app in the jellybean update. When the jellybean update was installed is when the problems started.

I'm also having issues in the Dallas area using a Nokia Lumia. When I try to send a text, I receive "Can't Send" error messages. I have restarted my phone twice.

I am having similar trouble with my text messages. The green "sending" arrow stays for hours, but the text is received by the other person. I have gotten replies to a text that I sent that still says "sending" on my end. I have tried deleting texts, as well as clearing data under apps and settings. Any other ideas?
