Software update jacked up my Razr

Have a Razr Maxx that is barely 3 months old. I downloaded an update early this week. The problems started with 4G not connecting, so the phone would allow absolutely no data connection, but when I'm in a spot that is 3G only, it works on the CDMA network. But while apps exist for other 4 G carrier phones there IS NO FREAKING WAY TO SHUT OFF 4G ON A VERIZON PHONE all the time, which I would do because 3G works fine. So I stop by a secondary store and the guy calls Support, they tell him to do a hard reset....no problem, I had Backup Assistant+, my stuff can be easily reloaded...I thought. No, now I can't get that back on the phone since the hard reset. Couldn't dial out, but to find out later, the phone network was set wrong. So, now it dials out, but can't do much else...like add contacts back in. This is not an acceptable way for this phone that I spend so much money to purchase and that I spend so much money on for the monthly contract, so I went to a Verizon corporate store to try to get help. The really nice guy wants to try a new SIM card, but since the other place talked to support and had new phone sent out, he can't alter the order. SO here I am, can't just get a new phone at the store because it's really inconveniently sent out to the home address instead of being able to get it replaced right there...which makes it so I'll have to miss work to get it on Monday, costing me money. I can't use the phone over the weekend in ways that I planned (for work), costing me money. I spend 4 hours running around trying to get it sorted out because like many people, this is the only phone I have.

I understand the need for a reliable device Graz65! I want you to love your Droid Razr just like when you bought it!

Have you received your new SIM card? If so, how has the device performed? Have you downloaded the same apps you had on the device prior to the hard reset? What specific error message are you receiving when attempting to load or activate Backup Assistant?

Let's get this figured out!

Sincerely,

When you say you did a hard reset are you talking about a Factory Data Reset or the control key reset? If it was a control key reset, you should do a Factory Data Reset. If/When you replace your SIM card, take the following precautions. Put on a rubber glove before touching it and wipe the glove off with alcohol to get the powder off of it. Then replace the SIM card. The contacts on the sim are very picky and if you get the oil from your fingers on it that will give a faulty connection and could account for some issues.
