Getting this phone on the heals of getting it's bigger Sibling the Droid Maxx is taking some getting use to the screen size for sure is smaller but the build Quality to me is tab better) Plus I like the fact that it was built here in the states actually a few states south of me..
Here's the Model I went with:
1. I chose the black over the white because seeing the Display models especially the white one's they showed signs of being handled..mine of course would only be handled by me but I think the longevity of use in the black unit will go farther.
2.The chargers on both of my new phones actually are pretty decent looking further into the specks they show a charge rate of 5.0V at 1150mA not bad at all both phones charge in about 3 to 4 hours..
3.The display quality could be a bit more but in reading I understand why Google / Motorola went with what they did and it might not have sing sang processor as some of the phones do but it can run program's & the internet fast enough for me and as for handling Games) The one's that I've loaded into it run pretty well.. the 2 that I currently have on my phone is Madden25 and Wingsuit - by Proximity Pro..
4. Sound Quality is very Good but not Great: And I'll add it's pleasing for once, not to have too put up with the snapping that was at times a nuisance on my Razr Maxx's) I'll add sound tones = Ringtones are a mix bag some sound good some just sound but music if it's not cranked up all the way sounds pretty Good..
5.Wallpapers Like soundtone's are as well a mix bag some look really good on the Moto X but some you just have to remove them and go to something else
6. Texting on my Moto X for the most of it is pretty smooth and the messages seem to flow in and out of the phone quite fast..
7. Going from app to app in the playstore flows pretty smooth there's I've had a hiccup flipping through some of it but for most it ran as I mentioned..
8. Skimming through apps in the apps Drawer move pretty smooth as well / and I have yet to run a power reset.. Guess you can call that good
As I use & learn more about my phone I'll add to the Thread.. Any one with this phone wants to add to the Thread please do..
Thanks b33

Yeah I was curious about how well that "Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System" processor handles games and it seems to be doing alright so that's good

Yea it does fairly well J but that's with just a couple Games on it if) for now unless I go in with Google's added space or buy into some space I guess you'd call it that from Verizon I'll do with just two on there but i have my Maxx with it's 32 gigs I can load up a bit more games on it and the screen space wow it's tremendous Playing Madden25 its really cool especially when a player goes rogue and hits one of the Flag guys they totally wipe em out...
I actually seen one of them guys shake his head after he was hit no joking..

I'd seen an article on CNET or somewhere that came out last summer when the Moto X was new, where the Motorola engineers that developed the phone had researched competing models and found that everyone's "quadcore" processors never used more than two of those cores at any given time, so sticking with a dual core cpu as part of the X's architecture was one of the reasons they could make more efficient use of the battery. Hence most folks don't see any difference in the X's performance vs. quadcore equipped phones.
As I mentioned in another thread, I went through more hoops with Motorola directly to get my version off contract, because I wanted both a Motomaker design with a wooden back, AND the 32 gigs of storage. That didn't seem to be an option going directly through VZW for a subsized (contract) phone. At this point I like the idea of not being tied up for two years to a device, but I don't see myself trading in early for something new, unless perhaps it's a better version of the X that's supposed to come out this summer.

I've got the bamboo back and it's pretty smooth. The dimple isn't as pronounced as the plastic/colored backs, but it is still there. I did put a clear/frosted TPU case on it (Cimo), which gives me a little more grip on the sides but you can still tell it's got the bamboo there. It even has a hole cut for the dimple, so resting one's finger there is even easier.

Can't really make my phone take a selfie of itself, so I'll post a URL of the case, which I got on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EB3G1SW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I can't vouch yet for its ability to protect the phone from a drop onto a hard surface, but it does make it more secure to handle without adding much bulk.

Bill i was looking on Youtube and came across the a Guy showing the O.B. commuter but he had to get it at A at&t store and he said the case was minus the protective lens and it was in at&t packaging instead of the usual Otter Box he said he said to him it was odd & suspect to me I feel the same he had a Verizon model Moto X but to get this particular case he had to go to at&t he had a later video and he showed in it were there was wear on the case boy is that weird.or what.. I have looked to see if this case is available from Verizon but I think I am.. Hopefully not in the shape as the one from at&t..

You can get the Otterbox series from places other than VerizonI usually go with Amazon or Ebay. Don't know if there's any difference in the form factor between VZW and ATT Moto Xs, but I do think there's a difference between those with wooden backs and the regular versionsthe seam between the backing and the front face are in different locations. Whether that makes a difference in the case you buy I don't know--the TPU cases like the Cimo I use don't make any distinction.

Sorry for the strikeouts in previous reply--I don't know why they showed up. I didn't mean to delete anything I wrote, so ignore them.

Adding on my thoughts on my Moto X) I got 1day 13h and 12min it's showing 3% left so that's not bad for the size of battery that's in the phone.. Time to Charge..
Added Note: I Like the Vibrator that was put in this phone but it puts out one of weirdest vibes at power up.. that is at times it does.. for most of the start up times it's pretty smooth..

I typically go to work with a full charge. I text, Facebook, email, and browse the net when I'm not too busy at work. All this is via my workplace WiFi. After a 12 hour shift, I go home and my MotoX will have about 45% charge left after being off charge for about 14 hours.
I guess I never have let it run all the way down, but as you can see, I go more than a half a day using about half my battery charge. It's funny to see some of my coworkers who use iPhones pull their chargers out after about 8 hours. I keep WiFi on all the time, but I don't use Bluetooth, so some users who use all 3 BT, WiFi, and 4G might use battery power quicker. I have been pleased with my Moto X so far. Also, I am running the latest system software 4.4.2.

Hey Doc thanks I was wondering how the 4.2.2. was doing my Moto X lol is asking me to update to the latest and I may soon as I think it may help improve it some say there battery life isn't as good after the update but if your getting the use out your Moto X as you say that's not bad at all Doc.. And from what I heard FaceBook can chew at the battery but I'm on it and I use my phone to play Madden25 but not as much as I do on my Droid Maxx but I still use) I will say when you hold the Maxx for a while and switch to Moto X it take a bit of getting use to but the more I use the more easier they're to work with..

Hey Doc after asking on the battery I did an endurance test sort of speak on my Moto X just to see how fast the battery could actually be drained, I used the app Most Wanted Need for Speed, It took a bit just to get it loaded but once I did i ran the app the graphics looked pretty good but the app being that it is drained the battery like a fighter Jet drinks jet fuel., with my Razr Maxx that I use to use the extra battery space and the not as sharp graphics I could go allot longer between charges) but on my Moto X it drops a bit quicker so for particular app like this one I'm gonna have to watch my battery use a bit more closely. b

I can see that happening. I don't play too many games, except for Angry Birds. If I play for a long time, it can drain it quickly. Same thing watching movies with Netflix. Obviously I don't get a chance to do either at work, so my battery does well. I guess I use my device like the typical Joe Schmoe at work uses his. Ah, but one day, when I'm about 85 years old, I can retire from work, lol. Have a great day...
