Something between Sleep and Off?

I have calls to my cell phone forwarded to my office phone when my cell phone is turned off. That way I don't have to wait for 4 rings on my cell phone before the call rings on my office line, and all my voicemail is in one place.
If I put my phone to sleep, it wakes up with an incoming call, so it doesn't do what I want. If I power it off, it does what I want, but it takes forever to start up again if I'm just taking it down the hall to someone else's office.
Is there some third operating mode I can use to have incoming calls automatically forwarded, but that can start back up again quickly?
Is there a way to bypass all the animations and sound effects, and go straight to Phone?

You can use the automatic call forwarding feather from you cell phone provider. Here is Verizon's info (I think it is the same for other carriers). http://support.verizonwireless.com/how_to_use/caller_forwarding.html

Your reply seems to indicate that I would need to reconfigure my call forwarding every time I wanted to set my phone down. Is that what you intended?

I don't think so. Once you have set your phone to call forwarding it stays
like that until you turn it off. You could set it to call forwarding at the
office and then set a reminder to turn it off before you left work.

I figured out a solution. Using the Smart Actions App, I created a rule that when the phone is plugged into a charger, it goes into Airplane mode.
When I'm in my office, I plug the phone into the charger, it goes into Airplane mode. When someone calls my cell phone, it automatically forwards to my office line. When I leave, I take it with me, it comes out of Airplane mode. When someone calls my cell phone, it rings.
Problem solved.

Just as long as you want to do without email, text messages, calendar/email sync. That would be a no-go for me.

When I'm in my office, I'm not doing without all those things.

I wouldn't want to be without text messaging with my family.
