I'm still running Gingerbread, want to upgrade to ICS since Jelly Bean update should be coming soon.
Do I do a factory data reset after upgrading or even possibly before? I have read several different opinions.
How long should I wait if Jelly Bean update comes out in between updating and doing FDRs?
There are always different opinions, it just comes down to what you want to do. Some will do a reset before and after an update making sure the device is "clean". Some will do the reset only AFTER the update, and then others will do the upgrade, and if there are problems, do a reset.
It all comes down to your own preference. I am on my 2nd smartphone (Fascinate and now RAZR MAXX), I have been through Froyo - GB upgrade and then GB - ICS upgrade, and have yet to do a reset on either device.
i myself also updated my razr maxx from gingerbread to ics. i didnt do a reset before or after and my phone runs perfectly i couldnt ask for more. sometimes things gts a little screwy during the update process that could warrarnt a reset but if it runs smooth and everything works then why bother. jesse
