My phone is indicating that I have three texts but I am unable to locate them. Anyone?

They aren't in your Text Messaging app?

They're not where all of my other texts are if that's what you mean.

Odd; have you recently received/read three new text messages and maybe the indicator is just 'stuck'?  You might try clearing the Text Messaging cache and see if that helps:

system > manage apps > text messaging > clear cache

That has happened to me before, I had to open each text individually to find it.

The new texts weren't highlighted like they are when they're new?

There are no new texts. I might try your cache clearing suggestion but not too happy about losing all of the ones I was keeping. I will lose them, won't I?

You shouldn't lose any texts by doing a cache clear; you will lose all your texts if you do a 'clear data'.

You may want to go to Google Play and download SMS Backup and Restore.  You can set it up to automatically back up your texts.

So you cleared the text messaging cache and you still have that notification?  What happens when you swipe the notification to clear it?

Negative. Went to clear the cache but it was empty and wouldn't even highlight to clear. Also had to get there in a roundabout way. Was unable to get there via

system > manage apps > text messaging > clear cache

You posted in a Razr Maxx thread, so I'm assuming that's what you have?  And you're still on ICS (you aren't one of the ones who got the 'released too early' JB update Christmas Eve?).

Oh, no!  I just realized I had a typo!     Try this:

menu > manage apps > text messaging > clear cache

If the cache is already clear, then we're back to the question:  what happens to the notification when you swipe to clear it?  Does it clear?  If so, does it come back?

Well, shoot ... sounds like we have another possible JB bug.  Wonder if has run across this one?

Don't know what the "JB Bug" is but I do know that this phone, which I got in Nov., has been a frustrating challenge.

Your frustration has been echoed by other forum members, who are reporting several issues with the Jelly Bean Operating System update, which is what I was referring to as "JB bugs".  is a community member with the same phone you have and I'm hoping he'll chime in here if he's experienced a similar issue like you've had with text notifications  I'm afraid I'm out of suggestions.
