Transferred contacts to replacement phone and got multiple duplicates. How can I get rid of the duplicates (there are close to 150 of each contact).

I just received a replacement phone and had backed up all the contacts as instructed.  When I restored the contacts on the replacement phone, they restored in duplicate times 150 each!!!!  It's insane!!!  I cannot sit here and delete 149 entries for each contact. Surely there's a way to merge duplicate contacts!!!  Anyone have any clues?

That is insane! Do you primarily have them backed up via VZ Cloud or Google Contacts?

If they are backed up on Google go here: https://contacts.google.com

Here you will presumably see a message at the top like this:

This is what I jus saw when I logged into my contacts. Here you can view the duplicates and it even lets you click on merge. It does the hard work for you.

If your backed up on VZW Cloud I'm not sure if there is an option like this. You could always back them on on Google and then delete them on VZ Cloud and go about the steps I outlined above. Good luck and let us know!
