My family have been long time customers of Verizon. I've had this phone since the end of December an I'm on my second phone. This is crazy!! I lost all of my contacts and pictures. I missed important calls for work because of this! I asked if there was a way that I could get a new phone and they told me NO! If i am a loyal and customer and pay my bill on time every month and they know there having this many issues with this phone then they need to issue everyone a different phone. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE ASAP or they are gonna lose alot of customers. Verizon use to be great WHAT HAPPENED?
SN I wonder if the FCC or BBB would like to hear about this?

Hey there cfs5vin. I want to start off by thanking you for you and your families continued support to Verizon Wireless. I am sorry to learn of the phone issues you are having, but I am confident that we can get it up and running smoothly.
Before we discuss replacement options cfs5vin, we do need to complete troubleshooting. What exactly is going on with your device?
Please provide additional details so we can continue to assist.

UPDATE, just trashed my RAZOR MAXX also!!! Have spent 2 hours on phone with Tech Support VZN and MOTOROLA! No results!! They sent me to store to re-set my MAXX to factory settings, That was a mistake I lost more than I had already LOST!
Here is what's gone that I have found so far;
Address book all messed up, names not Matching #'s or emails. All RING TONES, even the factory ring tones were downsized. App's gone before factory re-set. Can no longer set my alarm using my music only approved Motorola tones, WTHeck is going on. Been with VZN for 7 years at this point I am so <Comment deleted.> that I will never re sign with VZN again!!! I have been pushed around for the last time. I have 2 day's invested in trying to get my MAXX back to original with NO success........ SO you can tell me to stay on the line with C/S and they will help, BEEN THERE DONE THAT! What a waste of time! EVERYONE sez sorry, I'm so sorry, BUT that does not get me back to original MAXX functions that I liked and that's why I purchased the phone in the first place.
VZN, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER and Quit abusing your customers...!

The update did not mess up your phone. If it did, it would mess up everyone's phone, not just your's. Before I did the update, I did a factory reset and cache clear to get my phone ready for the update. When I did the update everything worked perfectly. Your problem is due to some corrupted files, some of your apps, or your phone is defective.

Gee Jim, glad you're so smart...but did anyone tell the rest of us that's what we needed to do to get our phones "ready" for the update. And by the way, it may not have messed up everyone's phones, but judging from these forums i keep looking at (and getting no real answers), it sure seems to have messed up A LOT of phones.

And I can point out a lot of posts where the user was told to do either did a factory reset, clear the system cache, or just remove and reload the apps, and it fixed their issues.
There were also posts on the forums from people who wanted to know what to do (if anything) before the update.

The user "ME", does not spend his or her time looking for posts on the I-net so we can function day to day with out consumer problems. VZN should warn of such potential problems before doing a PUSH. A push I wish I could "opt out of" they just TAKE my functionality away without question and or regard.
So bottom line JIM, VZN and the update DID Mess my phone up "as stated". Please do not argue that point, you will loose!
I do not have time to stay abreast on forums each day or week as I have a life away from the CPU.
VZN should notify customers of these PUSHES and warn them of poss effects and what we can do to avoid problems...............
What does VZN pay you for taking their side on issues, even if it conflicts with substance and common sense?
VZN, has just blown this subject off because they know they are wrong and cannot win this on this issue.
I want my original functionality BACK, that is what I purchased and paid for because that is what I liked.
And BTW I have other friends that lost address books, ring tones, apps. They were not warned and many don't even know how to use a message board. So what about them? I guess their just stupid huh.

I will be checking on these forums for the next few days, to see if Verizon will actually admit that it screwed up and pushed out an update to it's customers without fully testing it beforehand. If I don't see it, then I will have no choice, but to stop letting you see one single cent more of my money. This has, and is continuing to be handled very poorly. Shame on you, Verizon.

This "update" totally wrecked my phone. Signal is terrible now, keeps switching services and makes browsing IMPOSSIBLE. takled to verizon and motorola, both claim no responsibility for this. Motorola has the worst support i have ever worked with. I will NEVER own another motoroa product again. My phone has been reset, and it is still not working. I might as well have a flip phone, all it will do is make calls anymore.

If this is the proper way to apply the update and thing function correctly then why is it I'm reading it here and not in a memo, mailed or E-mailed?
I was excited to see I was finally going to receive Jellybean. Not so much so now as I am unable to connect to my Wifi. I like many work in the field of Technology and yes my Router is only 6 months old. I've tried just about everything, even removed my connection, disabled DHCP, and set a static ip. Guess, Your correct no go still stuck trying to access. Other have mentioned on the web that it isn't Verizon fault or issue but I feel much different. They have access to every phone on there network as well as jellybean to test prior to rolling out updates of this sort. Had testing been conducted "Correctly" you wouldn't have seen such wide spread loss of wifi.
I will continue to use my internet / work mail. They should issue out a roll back option until the bugs can be worked out or at the very least unlimited data for those user unable to access wifi.

Have you tried clearing the system cache since the update? Worth a try.
You ask where that is in the instructions? Scenario: You have a PC at home, and you get an OS upgrade for it, do you A) just load it and go? or B) wipe the drive, load the OS, and then load the apps?
Either works fine, there are advantages to both. When it comes to an OS update, there is no "Exact way", there are opinions and recommended troubleshooting tips. I am on my 2nd generation Android phone, gone through 3 OS updates, and have yet to have to perform a factory reset. I know others that have done it every time. Am I right, or are they right? Both of us are. Jim recommends to do it to "Clean the system up" before the OS update. That is his opinion, and choice to do. I would only do it if there were too many problems after an update.

How does one clean cache (spelling)? After I did the update the phone won't resync with my Facebook or gmail and I'm not getting the pictures that were once attached to people's names. I know silly worry but I was spoiled.
Thanks

That's good, I was just going to post an idea for you to try. As far as clearing the system cache, tikibar1 is correct with that process, it should work fine. Just be carefull, selecting the wrong option could wipe your phone.

Power down phone
Hold volume up/down & power simultaneously until you see the Boot Mode Selection Menu
Use volume down to navigate to 'Recovery', use volume up to select
Should see screen with triangle and exclamation point next to an Android
Press volume up/down simultaneously to go into system recovery
Use volume rocker to navigate to 'wipe cache' and use power button to select
Once finished, use volume rocker to navigate to 'reboot system now' and use power button to select

No but I did take the phone to VZN store and let them do it. The crazy thing is, it was worse after the clean up. Lost more original phone functions! Even original Skins.
Now I can't use my music for ring tones or alarm clock. I can only use sites like ZEDGE.
If there is a FIX for this dysfunction please let me know!

"No" to what? Clearing the system cache? You said you took it to Verizon and let them do it? Are you sure they did not do a system reset? That is a factory reset, and would make your phone look like it was just out of the box and needed to be setup. I have heard that a lot of the Verizon tech's don't know how to clear the system cache.

I'm just telling you what I did. I don't care what you do or don't do. I had modified my phone, so I knew I would have problems if I didn't return it to completely stock. After doing that, the update was flawless. You do whatever you want.
