Updated to 4.0.4, Bluetooth not functioning

Hi all,

        I have the RAZR Maxx that I frequently use with a J&M Audio bluetooth motorcycle helmet.  Prior to the update, I was able to make/receive calls, listen to full stereo audio, and navigation.  Since the update, the only bluetooth function that works is the phone.  ANY type of audio other than the phone will play through the phone speaker.  If I remove all clear all devices, the re-pair it will work once then go back to the above as soon as the music app is closed. This is killing me as I ride most of the time and it's not as enjoyable anymore.  I have tried the following:

1) Profile for the helmet = both phone and media audio buttons checked

2) "Paired Devices" screen shows the helmet with "Connected (no media)"

3) Tried soft reboot

4) Tried factory reset

5) Tried safe mode

6) Tried disabling about a dozen apps that MIGHT have something to do with audio

7) Tried disabling Wi-Fi

       Even went to the Verizon store, where the employees were quickly defeated by the problem.  Really dont want another phone or service but this is just unsat!  Anyone have any ideas?

Since the above post I have been sent a new phone, with exactly the same results.  Been back to the Verizon store to try pairing with a Maxx HD (different Android version) with the exact same results.  Paired fine with an iPhone there.  Just sent my helmet out for a firmware update to totally exclude that as a possibility.  I would like to wait for that to be finished before proceeding.  The simply isnt another phone out there that can replace the Maxx right now anyway.
