Anyone know how to get my photos to upload into my gallery? They sent me a Maxx and they uploaded fine. U had to do a reset and now they aren't there. The Google photos are. Gallery, not

If the photos were on the phone when you reset, but not backed up, then they were deleted with the factory data reset.

Well before I start crying. What was it that I would've had to do to back then up. Ya see, I got the phone one day, spent hours with out setting it up and something went wacky with it that tech support couldn't explain. They put me in safe mode first, that didn't fix it so they had me reset it. They never told me to save anything. What should I have done? The photos made it from my old phone to the Maxx before the reset

Sounds like you transferred the pics from the old phone to the new Maxx, but then didn't back up the photos before resetting the Maxx. But, did you save any photos to the Google Photos cloud before you reset? Are you referring to old photos or new ones you took with the Maxx?

I have the old photos in Google photos but there were different photos in my gallery. During the first setup I was looking at all of them and thinking how glad I was that I had them. We just moved in may and they were pics of our old home and much more. Like pets and friend that have passed

If this is true. Do you have any idea how angry I am? I hate Verizon! Don't you think she should've made sure I did that? Isn't that part of their job? Rhodes were my memories! Glad I have it all in writing. Her instructions.

I'm sorry. I wish I could have told you to make sure everything was backed up before resetting the phone. ALWAYS use some cloud service or your PC to backup photos at least once a week. I use Microsoft OneDrive because I can keep a folder structure like months years or places/locations/events. Google Drive is a good cloud as is Google Photos...but only for saving, not archiving since Google Photos does not keep a file folder structure like Drive and OneDrive.

Shouldn't they have been saved in the Verizon cloud

Not if you hadn't set up your Verizon account and Cloud on the phone first. You said you hadn't really set anything up yet.

Even on a new phone or one that you reset, you have to sign into the Cloud and set it up. If you look through the Accounts screen in Settings you will see Verizon in there, that doesn't mean it's set up yet though. Usually, on a Verizon phone, one of the first things that happens after reset and re-setup is that the phone asks you to set up your accounts, like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Verizon, etc.....But again, just because Verizon Cloud is on the phone, that doesn't mean it is set up yet.

So are you saying that when I first set out up it retrieved them from my old phones setup but since I didn't setup this phone there wasn't anything to retrieve?. That's just stupid. If it's in the cloud it should be there. On my little space to pickup anytime

Yes, the cloud cannot sync to a device for which it is not set up on yet.

So why can't it just go pick up my pics when it's set up. Isn't that what a cloud is for? If not, then your saying my pics are only on my phone anyway. I have an account and that hasn't changed. My section of the cloud sound still be there

I told my husband not to go to Verizon. We were with T mobile for over 10 years. We used to live in a very rural area with sketchy service. Well Verizon used to have better service. Not anymore. Their customer service stinks!!!!! About as bad as their phone service does.
