I have recently been receiving quite a few text messages from 6250 with the text "VZWNMN" followed by a sequentialk number. I didn't receive these when I first got my device, but recently they have been numerous. Any idea how I can stop these from arriving, or are these messages something important I should be reacting to?
Thanks

Those are probably related to the Usage Alerts that Verizon recently implemented and that everyone is opted-into by default. You can check them out and change notifications via your on-line MyVerizon account. Alerts are for minutes, text, and data usage. However, some people are reporting problems with the alerts; several threads on this forum about it ... here's one of them:

I had this issue and it is related to BUA doesn't recognize you device anymore. I had to log in to My Verizon and opt out of the free BUA Plus service (even though I never requested it).

This doesn't work. I did that yesterday and am still having these messages 4-15 times/day.

I can understand how frustrating this issue can be bellybear71. Receiving unwanted messages are no fun. I would like to provide you with some steps that may help with your issue. First try removing backup assistance from your phone. As the community stated, this issue can be related to this application. I also recommend removing any third party messaging applications. You should also enable/disable safe mode, to check if any other apps may be having an effect on the issues. Here are the steps http://tiny.cc/aeq0qw . If you continue to have this issue, contact us as customer service from an alternate phone at 1-800-922-0204 and we can check the account. Please keep us posted.
