Verizon....What A JOKE.

I am very very angry with the service I have received from Verizon. $600 for a phone that is supposed to be indestructible (Droid Razr Maxx) that breaks from nothing but a foot fall to the floor. I have had phones that were better made that this mess. I called verizon because the screen stopped working. A few weeks ago the speaker jack acts like there is nothing in it when i plug in my head phones. Verizon gives me only "call insurance" I can NOT BELIEVE HOW OUTRAGEOUS VERIZON's support. I want my money back. At this rate I WILL BE CHANGING providers. What a Joke Verizon. I would be completely embarrassed by how I treat the people who pay me. Can't wait to see how long it takes for you people to take this down.....

The warranty coverage is dependent upon the condition of the phone, it says so right in the warranty agreement that comes in the box.  Regardless of any other issue, the phone's physical condition is the first thing that determines whether or not it can be considered covered under warranty.  That's the whole reason to get the insurance, so that if the phone is damaged or lost it can be replaced.  Without the insurance it would be the full cost of the phone to replace it rather than just the deductible.  The Verizon people have no say in the warranty coverage what-so-ever; it is set entirely by the manufacturer of the phone.  If a damaged phone is returned to the warehouse, and there is physical or liquid damage of any significance, then the customer (you) would be charged a non-refundable fee by the warranty processing company of $500 or more for a smartphone.

As for the phone being "indestructible", there is no such thing.  The Razr is made of sturdier stuff than most, but even it can be broken.  If you feel that it broke too easily, contact Motorola since they are the ones that made the phone, not Verizon.  If you describe the issue, and they agree, it would be up to them to provide a replacement.  If not, then at least you have the insurance to fall back on and it will only be a fraction of the phone's actual cost to get it replaced.

You dropped the phone and you want Verizon to replace it for you for nothing? Good luck with that. Not sure who told you it was "indestructable",  but a fall is a fall, it doesn't matter the height, but more about the angle and what it falls on. Did you have a case on it? That also helps protect it.

Just to clarify... The phone worked just fine after it was dropped... Days later it is not working and it isnt even the screen it is the power button not responding, I believe these two things have nothing to do with the other.  But just because the screen is cracked Verizon wont give me the time of day. It is appalling that they call it customer service. I paid the full price for the phone to begin with so I will not pay for it again. I agree that no phone is indestructable but they way it is marketed is leaning more towards false advertisement than anything. I pay a good portion of my income to Verizon for this mess and all i get is blown off when I call. This is just like the HP fiasco a few years ago when the mother boards where frying and HP said they didn't know of an issue but later did a recall on a few models but not all of the problems models were covered leaving me with a boat anchor. It is sad that as americans we just roll over and let these huge industries do this stuff to the people who buy their products when if it weren't for those customers they themselves would have nothing.  I don't agree with this at all and I will see to at least I get treated with some respect from verizon or I will terminate my service and never look back. I believe that one negative feedback creates lots more loss than five good words produces gains.

While the power button MAY not be related to the drop, it also MAY be related to it. The drop could have loosened something and it took a few days to completely fail.

Verizon is just a facilitator for the manufacturer warranty. If you don't agree with the answer you get from Verizon, you could always go to the manufacturer website and follow the procedure to have the device sent in for warranty/repair work. You may not get a different answer, but it can't hurt to try. Be prepared to also pay for the screen to be replaced, though, if you send it back to the manufacturer, because if they do repair the phone, you will most likely be charged for the screen.

I would also like to point out that there is a forum here that addresses that this partiular phone has been reported as the screen cracking because it over heated. That screams something to me that I just can not overlook.

Also the phone keeps telling me that the phone is not working in an error message box.......that is not the screen.

My audio jack does not work either, they say it is not a known issue but you can find it all over the internet.  They did replace the brand new phone I purchased with a refurbished phone whose audio jack does not work either.  I am about to waste more time that I do not have on the phone dealing with this....

Did you test the new phone out before you sent your original one back? I had a Fascinate that was replaced, and I made sure in 1 day that it did everything that it was supposed to do, otherwise I would have sent it back and re-activated my new phone. Yes, it would have still had the problem, but then I would not have been replacing it with a refurb with problems.
