I just got my Razr last night and I find that I cannot do a damn thing without being connected to wifi. Even something as simple as getting a GPS lock for weather requires wifi. If I lose my Wifi connection I cannot even get my Verizon e-mail/ The 4Glte icon is on my phone andI have 2 or more bars, but if no Wifi I can't do much. This is very frustrating as I upgraded from an old Droid X which worked like a charm. Almost every feature I have tried on this phone is worse than the Droid X version.

Is this a recent issue or was you able to connect at one point and it just stopped?

I have no idea. I haven't even had the phone for 24 hours yet. Knowing Verizon, they probably didn't activate my phone properly (like the last two times). I know that the the phone didn't know I had Visual Voice Mail and asked if I wanted to subscribe.

Did you have a smartphone device before this device because if you just started the account yesterday it could be that the data package hasn't been setup for your account yet. The iPhone uses a different internet that all the other devices which mean that this feature could be simply not setup yet.
If you think there was a setup issue then you might want to contact CS and verify that its a possible setting issue.

I had the 3G Droid X with the Unlimited Data package. I had a problem when I switched from the Blackberry Storm to the Droid X a few years back.

Sounds like it may be wise to contact CS. Also have you logged into your MyAccount and verified all your account features?

Another thing you can do is pull the Sim Card After you Shut Down the Device Leave it Out for at lest 2 min then put it back in your Maxx be care when handling the Sim Meaning do not touch the Gold area of it. It's sensitive to Static Electricity an Oils on your Fingers..
Also when installing it back in the Device make sure it is Fully Locked in there is a Spring Mechanism that catches it an Locks it in. Use a Round Wooden Tooth Pick Cut to Blunt Face to fully but Gently Lock in the Card.. b33

I called CS and they resent the activation codes and had me do a soft reboot and now all is well. As I thought, the activation didn't work fully.
