I live in a place where a network extender is necessaary for proper cell service. It worked great with my droid x but when i upgaded to the razr maxx, network extender still beeps on call connect, but i constantly drop calls. I went to my verizon store and they sold me another network extender....but...the same thing is happening. There has to be a setting or something I can do to have service at home. I have already dropped my land line.
ANY help is appreciated...
Thanks
Don

Hello, I am having the same problem with my Maxx, as well as all of our phones. We have home phone connect as well that works occasionally. Usually it rolls to voicemail with out ringing. On our network extender, we have replaced our GPS antenna with an external, reset, rebooted, etc hoping for better service... no luck. Verizon continues to file trouble tickets yet, nothing. Each rep has promised to follow up, which is a joke. I received a text saying the signal was boosted and the problem was resolved 2 days after it was sent. That is typical service for me. Our service is as bad if not worse than it was.
I wish you luck. We have had no resolution so far. I am looking for another provider.

Hi,
I was having same problem since moving to Razr Maxx HD from X2. A little voice told me there has to be something stupid/simple causing problem. Mine is working great now with the Network Extender.
Here's what I did:
Settings/More (under Data Usage/Mobile Networks. Choose "network Mode". The default is "Global". Change to LTE/CDMA.
Guess what, the Network Extender Operates on CDMA. DUH.
Anyway, mine works great now
Regards, Jay

Let's get that Network Extender connected donho! The Network Extender that we have available is compatible with our voice and 3G networks, not 4G. You can have a Network Extender work with a 4G device, however, since it is not compatible with the 4G network, it will only boost the signal for a 3G network. As sgigb1 recommended lets turn that device into CDMA mode and test out. Let me know if the issue persists with CDMA enabled.
Thank you,

This is Donho, the OP. For some reason this board would not let me sign back in under my old username/password.
I did try the steps for switching off 4g....this did not fix the issue. I am connecting to the extender....... #48 proves that.
I had a previous inquiry with Verizon tech support. These "phone sessions" lasted for about 10 - 14 days. Although I stated the same things as here, I felt as though everything I said was irrelevant to the tech. I "jumped through hoops" at every call and everything on my end checked out. The last call he was wanting me to start changing settings on the computer / router / modem that shouldn't be needed done......after all EVERYTHING WORKED FINE ON MY OTHER PHONES.
I understand that this is likely a 4g issue. But something should be able to work. I am out the cost of a second network extender and a have purchased 2 Razr Maxx phones, not to mention what I pay for service each month.
I am starting to wonder if a different phone may have a setting that will make this work???
Thanks for the replies so far

I went through the same issues with the equipment and customer service. Needless to say I am canceling my service. I would rather take the loss on the several hundreds of dollars I was convinced I needed, than to continue another minute with the frustration and aggrevation and a huge bill for a service that does not serve. I have had it with Verizon. Sprint so far has been excellent. Free extender after 90 days if you need one unlimited data for the same price.
Best of Luck
