WiFi <> Gmail <> MMS

Why is it when I turn on WiFi at work that Gmail will not download nor can I receive MMS? Even if I have data on, Gmail will not download/refresh?

  Wifi takes priority when it is on, and could your work network be blocking free email sites? This happens to me all the time, I have to remember to shut off wifi. I work in school districts, and they do not allow access to free email sites.

  MMS messages also come over the network.

I downloaded the enhanced Gmail app and it now works! I had to disable the stock gmail app so that I wouldn't get email twice on my device. If I get a MMS I just need to turn off WiFi for a few minutes to download it.
