I am going to ask, are the photos still on the cell? Did she actually "cut" & "copy" or just "copy"&"paste" to the new folder on the computer?
If the computer has not been turned off after the mistake of deletion you can go to the command prompt in Windows and type: undel c:windows/dcim2
have not used a DOS command in years so I hope that was the right syntax.
UNDELETE [ edit source | edit beta ]
External - DOS 5.0 and above Restores files previously deleted with the DEL command.
UNDELETE [[drive:][path]filename]
So in your case it would be:
undelete c: windows dcim2
if your wife placed it under her my documents folder it changes to
Undelete C: windows/mydocuments/dcim2

If you are trying to recover files from your phone see: https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/986222#986222
The short answer is if they were deleted from your internal phone memory - no; if they were deleted from your SD card - maybe. If they were deleted from your PC try what Elector suggested or use one of the many free apps available to recover deleted files; I use Recuva.

Also have you looked in the recycle bin on your PC. All deleted files go there 1st as a safeguard
