Got the same notification (NOT a text message) early this morning about 12:30...in Central New York...mine was not an update, just said that it would be coming in a week...check out popherald.com (I know - could be another "rumor", but this seems to go along with the message i received.

If your notification was not a text, where on your phone did you receive it?

It was probably a notification on the Notification Bar if it wasn't a text.

yeah it was on the notification bar and it also appeared on the screen. the update came up 2~3 hours later as previous OTA pushes.

The article on the site mentions that there are battery issue with the update? Has anyone experienced less battery life since they got ICS?

Is it entirely possible that the battery issue they report has to do with the fact that after you get the update you play around with it for several hours?? just sayin'...My battery is getting lower (not "low"), but I haven't put this down for like 2 hours now...

Exactly... Like you are going to use the phone the same way you did before you got the update. You want to play around with everything, check it out, etc...
Reports like that make me wonder though..

I'm in central time and I just want to know a date for when the icream update will be available for droid razr.
I've talked to verizon and motorola several times and haven't got any useful info and I'm tired of checking everyday on my phone for new updates.
I just want to know the date.
Thanks

Good luck on that one. Some people have gotten it already, and some people like you and I, are still waiting. There is no way of putting an exact date on it. I have seen someone that is in the same city as me get the update already, and I'm left wondering why I don't have it yet. We have to just try to be patient and know that it is coming and will hopefully be here soon. There is an article out there on popherald.com that says it could be out to everyone by this weekend, but I don't know how reliable the source for that article is. I would say just hang in there. It's only a matter of time.

Thank you for your answer. you're the first nicest person to respond.
guess the only thing to do is wait then, although it drives me crazy.

You're not alone in that. It's driving all of us that do not have it yet crazy. I have tried not to be constantly hitting my Check for Updates button on my phone, but I am finding that I am spending a LOT of time on these forums trying to get new information about the update. I can't wait to get the update, not because I think it's really going to change my phone a whole lot, but because I want to be able resume normal life and not be worrying about when I will get Ice Cream Sandwich anymore. But even in the waiting, I know that it will be here soon, and my phone is working fine without the update, so I can afford to wait a little longer.

I have two phones a Razr for my daughter and Razr Maxx for me. She got the update at 2am this morning I am still waiting, we are in SouthWest Ohio. Her phone was purchased two weeks ago, mine is several months older. This rollout makes no sense and is nothing but frustrating at the very least. So far she has had no issues with ICS.

I have a Razr Maxx, and I haven' t recieved ICS update neither. When I had the Droid 2 there was a major update coming I called Verizon and the rep. told me that it will be rolling out to phones per build date. Might be this is what is happening now.

Guys, patience. I have not received mine yet. There is a part of me that cannot wait. But there are some that have had a couple of issues mainly with the battery life being a little shorter. It is that issue that makes me want to wait. One that I had heard of was one of the early ones (and may or may not have been a soak tester as he had signed up for it but was never confirmed). But the later the release for some of us the more likely these little bugs are worked. I personally like my battery life as it is now. For right now I am just spending time, like many of you pouring over these forums for more information.
