razr maxx concerns

i recently received a brand new razr maxx ordered during the leap year sale (had the device less than 2 weeks so far). i love the device, but there are 2 things that concern me:
1. the kevlar "sticker" on the back seems to be detaching from the back of the phone right where the phone slims down. you can press it very lightly and hear a "click" as it attaches and then detaches. my case should be coming in the next day or 2, so i guess i won't notice it soon, but still seems like shoddy craftsmanship.
2. the power button seems recessed too far and seems like i have to press too much to get it to register. a friend just got a regular razr at the local verizon store a few days ago, and the feeling of his power button is like night and day. his is much more pronounced and doesn't require nearly the pressure to register.
both of these issues were noticeable the first day i got it, but (at least with the power button) i figured it was just something i needed to get use to.
are these commons problems? should i look into getting a replacement? since i'm locked into this new device for 2 more years, i want to make sure the power button won't become a bigger issue.
thanks!

Did you take off the sticker off the back of the Maxx an you said it makes this sound when you push in on the kevlar back check out this Video on YouTube an you can see the Kevlar back of the Maxx. An you can see also how the battery Sits in a frame you can View this video as bit by bit view to get a better look at the inner Workings just use your pause when doing So. As for the the Buttons mine has the same travel as your Maxx does i wouldn't Worry to much in less you need more travel in your buttons. You got a good phone with a good case you should be good to go.

i'm still concerned about the power button - if i take this into a local verizon store, would they be able to help me even if i purchased the phone online?

As far as the power button issue, it is recessed and difficult push. My solution was a case, most silicone cases have a built up area over the button which makes it easier to access. It's probably overkill and makes the phone heavier, but I us an otterbox commuter (not defender) case, purchased at that online big A store.

Well i guess you could take it to the store an request another New one but i would look at the Regular Razr's an the Razr Maxx Display models first to see how there Power an Volume buttons travel from the way your's does to get a good reference an if there the Same i would stay with the you have. I was kind of in a situation you was but with my Maxx it was How the Chrome trim stuck up on the top left side of it. To me it looked like it stuck up Higher than the right side does but after looking at many pictures and looking at Razr's an Razr Maxx's that i put in my hand i concluded it was just part of the Manufacturing.
Another thing that i was a little tooken at was when my Maxx would play a Ringtone or sometimes Music when it would finish there would be a little snapping sound that came from the External Speaker it does not do this all the time just every once in a while an another thing that was hard for me to adjust was the speaker being a little more High in pitch i guess that's what you would call it or high on Treble but with the Download of the E.Q. App it has kind of Tamed it Down. An listen to music on my headphones is great the sound is as good or better than my Droid X. So to conclude an over all i think it's Great phone I had to Let it Wear on Me as i did with my Droid X an Incredible but So far it's looken pretty Good. B33

thanks for the response. i didn't realize it was only 14 days for an exchange (didn't it use to be 30?). i'm already a couple days past 14 days since activation, so i guess i'm stuck? my main concern is that this will prove to be more than just an annoyance after a couple months and maybe it will stop working altogether.
