What is a direct dial widget? I just got Jelly Bean today... 😞
Direct Dial widgets let you put a contact on a home screen. When you long-press the Direct Dial widget, you'll be taken to your home screen, where you can place the widget wherever you want. Once you then let go of it, you'll be taken to your People app, where you scroll to the appropriate contact for your widget and then click on it. Once that's done, your contact will be on your home scren; pressing it dials the phone number.
There's also a Favorite Contacts widget that you may prefer over Direct Dial widgets.
