screen rotate problems

Happened yesterday, and happened again today. My screen won't rotate until I turn my phone off and on again. I read this in another forum and they said turning it on and off solves, but to me, that is not the answer.

Also, haven't had this problem the past two days, but I am not receiving all texts from my daughter, who is currently in college in Ohio. She has the Thunderbolt.  BUT, I am receiving her text notifications, (thats how I know she sent me something)

That sound frustrating.  I'm wondering if you have an app that's interfering or if it's your phone.  The only way I know to simply test that is to boot in Safe Mode and see if the problem goes away.  This will not cause you to lose any data, but you might not see all your stuff in this mode as it only loads the essentials.

But it might take awhile for it to happen. Like I say, I reboot then it works fine. Not like I'm on my phone all the time. Right now it works fine. Maybe tonight it won't rotate if I try it, but maybe it will. Just so frustrating.

Yeah, intermittent problems can be the most frustrating and difficult to solve.  Sorry.  But if it gets more frequent it might be worth trying safe mode.
